Whether you’re seeking full-time or part-time opportunities, we have shifts available to suit your schedule.

Position Overview

As a Medication Aide, you will play a crucial role in administering prescribed medications to our residents under the guidance of the attending physician, nurse supervisor, charge nurse, and Director of Nursing Services. Your role will ensure our residents receive the highest standard of care in accordance with North Carolina state regulations and our facility's policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, administer, and accurately document medications using the six rights of medication administration.
  • Maintain proper documentation in the electronic MAR system and follow facility procedures for refused, held, or self-administered medications.
  • Immediately notify the nurse of any medication errors or near-misses.
  • Ensure medications are correctly labeled and adhere to labeling standards.
  • Demonstrate understanding of medical abbreviations, symbols, and terminology relevant to medication administration.
  • Participate in continuing education programs related to medication administration.
Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or GED required.
  • Certification: Must hold an NC Board of Nursing-approved Medication Aide certification and be listed on both the NAI (CNA) and Certified Medication Aide registries in North Carolina.
  • Skills: Competency validation under the supervision of a registered nurse employed by LSC.
Work Environment
  • Physical exertion includes pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 35 pounds; occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Prolonged standing and walking may be required, with occasional bending, squatting, or reaching.
  • Ability to assist in repositioning and transferring individuals of varying weights following safety protocols.
