Position Summary:

The Facility Cleaning Specialist ensures Ethnix Group’s headquarters and cross-dock areas remain pristine, safe, and welcoming for employees, visitors, and customers. As a key contributor to the ESG team, this role upholds our company value of neatness, implements sustainable cleaning practices, and supports waste-reduction goals. The Specialist collaborates with Operations, HR, and Safety to maintain the highest standards of hygiene across offices, warehouse, production areas, break rooms, restrooms, and exterior walkways.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

-Daily Cleaning & Sanitization

• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and machine‑scrub floors across offices, warehouse aisles, and loading docks.
• Disinfect high‑touch surfaces (doorknobs, handrails, break‑room appliances) per OSHA and CDC guidelines.
• Clean and restock restrooms and changing areas; ensure all dispensers are filled and functioning. 

-Waste & Recycling Management

• Empty trash and recycling receptacles; stage compactors and recycling bins for pick‑up.
• Separate cardboard, plastic, and other recyclable materials in line with ESG diversion targets.
• Report waste‑volume metrics to the Director of ESG.

-Supply Inventory & Equipment Care

• Track cleaning supplies weekly; submit restock requests to Purchasing.
• Inspect, maintain, and safely operate janitorial equipment (auto‑scrubbers, vacuums, pressure washers).

-Event & Special‑Project Support

• Provide pre‑ and post‑event cleaning for town halls, trainings, and customer tours.
• Assist ESG team with quarterly deep‑cleaning projects (e.g., high‑bay dusting, floor stripping & waxing).

-Safety & Compliance

• Handle chemicals in accordance with Safety Data Sheets (SDS); maintain proper labeling and storage.
• Wear required PPE and follow lock‑out/tag‑out procedures when servicing equipment.

-Sustainability Initiatives 

• Recommend eco‑friendly products and methods that reduce water, energy, and chemical use.
• Participate in ESG meetings to share ideas that enhance facility cleanliness and sustainability.

-Follow all preferred work methods, safety policies and procedures per company guidelines.

-Ensure work area is safe and report any unsafe conditions and/or acts immediately.

-Able to work in multi-temperature environments, i.e. cooler, freezer and dry.

-Performs general housekeeping duties in work area as needed.

-Performs other related duties as assigned.

-Steel toe or composite closed-toe shoes (protective safety footwear) are required in select business units.

-Must be able to meet predictable attendance and punctuality expectations and physical demands of the position complying with Ethnix Group’s policies and performance expectations.

Organizational Responsibilities:

Follows established policies and procedures by monitoring and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and operational processes related to area(s) of responsibility and reporting violations or infractions to appropriate individual(s).

Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with Company, warehouse, and departmental policies, procedures, and standards by immediately reporting any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, employee/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to appropriate individual(s).

Work Hours (may vary by state or location):

Hours of operation vary by site and shift. Must be available to work overtime and assigned shifts. Must be able to perform the essential job functions unaccompanied.

Education/Experience:

• Highschool Diploma or GED. 
• 2+ years of warehouse and/or distribution cleaning work related experience a plus.

Language Ability:

Demonstrated ability to read, write, and communicate effectively to comprehend and complete documents, and answer questions in English. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence as needed. Spanish proficiency a plus.

Math Ability:

Demonstrated mathematical skills necessary to add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers, decimals, and fractions, and calculate percentages.

Reasoning Ability:

Demonstrated ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:

Demonstrated proficiency in software and able to use WMS and related software’s.

Certificates and Licenses:

Valid and active driver’s license and reliable transportation to support occasional off-site errands.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This job does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Incumbents work in an warehouse environment where temperature may vary in some parts of the warehouse (cooler/freezer, up to 0 °F temperature), but also have frequent exposure to outside elements where temperature, weather, odors, and/or landscape may be unpleasant and/or hazardous . You’ll be working around moving machines – order pickers, stand-up forklifts, turret trucks, and mobile carts. Depending on the weather, temperatures can be over 90°F in the truck yard or inside trailers.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, type, handle or feel objects, talk, and hear. Incumbents must be able to physically access all exterior and interior parts of the warehouse and amenities.

Must be able to push, pull, lift, carry, or maneuver weights of up to fifty (50) pounds independently.

Routine, local travel may be required to attend training classes, or other situations necessary for the accomplishment of some or all of the daily responsibilities of this position.
