Profitroom - Empowering hotels directly

Currently, we are looking for a seasoned Business Development Manager based in South Africa.

As a Business Development Manager specializing in hospitality technology solutions, your main goal is revenue growth. You'll achieve this by identifying, cultivating, and securing partnerships with hotels looking to improve guest experiences and operational efficiency through innovative technology. The objective is to promote long-term sustainable growth.

Daily activities:

  • Drive sales within the assigned territory, with a primary focus on South Africa, by executing a strategic approach to grow market share and meet or exceed targets.
  • Manage the full sales cycle — from arranging meetings and preparing contracts to closing deals in compliance with legal and internal procedures.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients, identifying business opportunities and driving up-selling and cross-selling efforts.
  • Represent Profitroom at industry events to boost brand visibility and recognition.
  • Develop and implement a growth strategy focused on financial performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Promote the company’s products and services by addressing clients’ objectives and clearly communicating Profitroom’s unique selling points (USPs).
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to enhance brand awareness and support outreach initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales, revenue, invoices, etc.
  • Ensure accurate CRM updates and sales reporting; share market feedback to support strategic decisions.
  • Support team development by mentoring junior staff and sharing best practices.


Requirements
  • Experience and strong network within the hospitality industry.

  • Proven track record of success in a senior sales role or a relevant position.

  • Exceptional sales skills, including strong closing ability.

  • Excellent command of written and spoken English; fluency in a second language would be an advantage.

  • Creative, out-of-the-box thinker with a proactive approach.

  • Willingness to work as a team and support each other sharing knowledge through additional projects.

  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on processes.

  • Commercially savvy with a strong understanding of business dynamics.

  • Strong networking skills to foster relationships and drive sales opportunities.

  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
