Job description

Property Claims Supervisor - Remote

The Claims Supervisor, Property contributes to Wawanesa's goal of delivering an exceptional and consistent claims service experience by providing leadership to the Property claims team, focusing on the achievement of key business goals and customer service standards.

Job Duties

  • Provide exceptional customer service
  • Coordinate and supervise daily activities of Property claims team
  • Provide guidance and leadership to staff and specialists
  • Manage service levels by organizing, distributing, monitoring work flow and setting priorities to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity as guided by corporate policies, procedures and business plans
  • Conduct or contribute to employee development, and employee performance management through coaching and supporting the development of their teams technical skills and competencies
  • Conduct periodic review of claims files and coach team to strive for continuous improvement and development by setting and tracking individual and team performance objectives
  • Provide direction and leadership in areas such as: coverage analysis, liability determination, investigation, policy, damage identification and estimation, interpretation, settlement negotiations and establishing reserves for various types of property claims.


Qualifications

  • 5 + years progressive claims adjusting experience, with at least 2+ years of property claims adjusting experience
  • College /University degree preferred
  • Insurance industry professional designation preferred and a desire to continue relevant industry education
  • Effective customer service skills including empathy and concern for our customers
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Excellent investigative and analytical skills
  • Highly proficient time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work in a fast paced, changing environment
  • Excellent knowledge of policy wordings all lines of business, corporate guidelines, policies and procedures
  • Ability to coach, guide, and positively motivate employees
  • Excellent knowledge of various types of property policies
  • Detail oriented with a critical degree of accuracy regarding data entry
  • Exceptional advanced negotiation skills
  • Position requires the ability to lift up to 5 lbs on a daily basis
  • Position requires low mobility throughout the building to meet internal customer demands.


 

    Compensation: Depends on experience and varies by location.

    This position is considered exempt for purposes of wage-hour law. 

    California Compensation:

    • The pay range for this position is $90,724 - $136,087 annually, depending on experience.

    Colorado Compensation:

    • The pay range for this position is $82,477 - $129,901 annually, depending on experience.

    Nevada Compensation:

    • The pay range for this position is $86,601 - $129,901 annually, depending on experience.

    Washington Compensation:

    • The pay range for this position is $82,477 - $123,715 annually, depending on experience.
