Oversee the quality and appearance of the library collection by replacing labels, repairing broken covers and cases, and weeding damaged items
Organizes and maintains a variety of library materials including conducting inventory, processing holds, and shelving.
Provides excellent customer service at the integrated service desk, including creating library cards, offering general reference information, check-in and check-out of materials, interpreting and explaining library policies and procedures, and instructing patrons on the use of library resources on computers and mobile devices.
Assists patrons with technology issues, locating materials, and promotes library services and programs.
Opens and closes the service desk and cash register; operates point-of-sale systems, reconciles daily transactions, and prepares accurate end-of-day deposits.
Serves as a shift supervisor in the absence of a manager by directing the circulation workflow, collecting fines and fees, reconciling funds, handling difficult patron situations and filling out incident reports
Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or G.E.D.
Preferences
Experience with providing customer service and resolving customer issues
Experience with Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook)
Special Requirements: This position will require travel to other branches within the system. A DMV check will be conducted for employees who drive while on County business.
Work Schedule: This is a permanent full-time position working 37.5 hours per week. Scheduled hours will fall within the following hours: Monday through Wednesday 8:30 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., and Thursday through Saturday 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Schedule includes one evening and rotating weekends.
Starting Salary Range: $21.14 – $26.65 / hourly
