Position Purpose
The Instructional Coach works under the supervision of the Academic Dean and is responsible for ensuring high-quality instruction in classrooms through modeling, co-planning, co-teaching, and providing feedback to teachers in accordance with CECs academic philosophy, goals, and objectives.

Job Duties

  • Upholds CECs beliefs found on the CEC website.
  • Employs CECs mission statement in all decisions.
  • Utilizes recognized best instructional practices to provide direction, support, training, and coordination for how curriculum is consistently taught and how it aligns with CECs mission, academic philosophy, goals, and objectives.
  • Supports teacher professional development by providing guidance in planning and pacing of lessons, in developing differentiated lessons, and selecting appropriate and varied assessments to meet the academic needs of students.
  • Conducts informal (non-evaluative) classroom observations and develops coaching plans for teachers professional growth and student success.
  • Assists teachers with resources, materials, tools, information, etc. to support classroom instruction and planning.
  • Develops teacher knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behaviors through a variety of professional development trainings.
  • Supports teachers and administrators in using academic data to improve instruction and to contribute to the development of systems and structures to improve teacher and student outcomes.
  • Models classroom lessons and co-teaches lessons as needed.
  • Builds strong relationships with teachers, administrators, and other staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor's degree in related area required.
  • Master's degree in related area preferred.
  • At least 5 years of teaching and coaching experience, or leadership experience preferred.
