Description

NexGen Data Systems is seeking a talented Network Engineer with experience in operating complex WAN and LAN environments supporting networks running a variety of different routing and encryption protocols (BGP, OSPF, IPSec) along with experience operating stateful inspection and next generation firewalls. The ideal candidate would be well versed in a wide range of technologies, including Arista routers, SD-WAN, RedHat Linux, Ansible, and Python with an expert level understanding of networking concepts along with strong customer service skills. The candidate will be expected to have understanding of large-scale WANs and associated technologies (i.e. QoS, monitoring, security, network automation) as they relate to providing a secure, reliable, fault-tolerant network. The candidate will join a team of Engineers and work in a collaborative environment supporting highly visible engineering projects. Previous exposure to scripting and software defined networking is a plus, but not required.


Roles and Responsibilities: 

  • Implement design strategies to develop enterprise networks with attention to bandwidth capacity, circuit/hardware redundancy, and increased packet analysis capabilities. 
  • Design enterprise networks utilizing eBGP, iBGP, BGP route-reflectors, IS-IS, LISP, GETVPN, and MPLS on Arista platforms to maximize throughput and improve the user experience. 
  • Contribute to technical documentation including system design documentation, deployment/build plans, and test plans.

Requirements

Desired/Required Skills: 

  • Active Secret level government clearance or higher required.
  • Must meet 8140 Department of Defense compliance requirements (Security and OS certifications).
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in math or engineering field required.
  • In-depth knowledge of routing and firewall technologies required.
  • Experience deploying SD-WAN networks with VeloCloud, Viptela, and or Juniper SD-WAN .
  • Experience deploying and configuring Cisco, Arista, Palo Alto or Juniper routers, multilayer switches, and firewalls/IPSes.
  • Vendor certification from Cisco (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE), Arista, Juniper, or Palo Alto required.
