This is a remote position.

Job Highlights:

Contract: Independent Contractor
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm Eastern with an hour unpaid break
Client Timezone: Altamonte Springs, Florida USA


About the Role:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Case Manager with a background in real estate law to join our legal team. In this role, you will manage legal cases from intake through resolution while also overseeing billing and administrative support. Experience with MyCase or similar legal case management software is essential, as you'll be responsible for timeline management, billing coordination, and overall case organization. This role is ideal for a legal professional experienced in real estate transactions and legal billing processes.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of real estate legal matters, ensuring deadlines and key milestones are tracked and met using MyCase software.

  • Conduct client intake and maintain ongoing communication to support case progress and client satisfaction.

  • Draft and file legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, closing documents, and correspondence.

  • Coordinate with external parties (title companies, realtors, lenders, municipalities) to facilitate property transactions.

  • Maintain and organize case files and documentation in MyCase.

  • Support attorneys in preparing for hearings, closings, and other legal proceedings.

  • Track billable hours and prepare accurate time entries in line with firm policies.

  • Generate and review client invoices, assist with collections, and ensure timely billing cycles.

  • Reconcile client accounts and handle billing inquiries professionally and efficiently.

  • Proactively manage case timelines and ensure nothing falls through the cracks.

  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in handling client information.


Requirements
  • Proven experience as a case manager, legal assistant, or paralegal in a real estate law setting.
  • Strong understanding of real estate transactions, legal procedures, and court systems.
  • Hands-on experience with MyCase or similar legal case management and billing software.
  • Excellent organizational and timeline management skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal software tools.
  • Ability to work independently, multitask, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • [Preferred] Paralegal certificate or degree in Legal Studies or a related field.
