As an Assistant Controller, you will report directly to the VP of Finance and Administration, playing a pivotal role in managing all accounting functions, supporting SEC reporting, and maintaining robust internal controls. Your responsibilities will encompass overseeing the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes; preparing and reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analyses; assisting in the preparation of SEC filings such as 10-Qs and 10-Ks; ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements; and collaborating cross-functionally with departments like Clinical and R&D to accurately reflect operational spending
Requirements
The ideal candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, a CPA designation, and 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in public accounting with a national firm.
Experience in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industry is preferred.
Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with ERP/Accounting systems like Great Plains or NetSuite are essential.
