As a key member of the Make Progress (MP) team, the Community Life Supervisor establishes a safe and welcoming residential community while supervising members of the Community Life department. With team, creates a trauma-informed environment that fosters positive and growing relationships with God and others and equips clients to achieve independent living goals. Welcomes new clients and orients to campus. Utilizes a mentoring approach to promote support of Community Life Guidelines. Coaches' clients as they engage in Work Therapy assignments. Supports team to achieve excellence in standards of hospitality and physical safety, including fire safety and crisis intervention. Effectively collaborates with Clinical Services, Operations, volunteers, etc. Provide coverage for Campus Leader as needed.
Specific Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
Ensure effective daily practices that foster a safe, welcoming, healthy, and caring living environment.
Provide direct staff support and supervision to Community Life department. Assist with weekly scheduling and ensure all shifts are adequately staffed.
Work with Manager or Senior Manager to effectively utilize overtime and additional temporary/security staffing resources.
Provide coverage for Campus Leader including cross-department collaboration and all-campus meetings.
Support team to welcome and orient new clients to residence and review Community Life Guidelines. Foster supportive and positive communication and boundaries between staff and clients.
Work with Clinical Services to support client activities, intake processes, and dismissals. Model skills for de-escalating and resolving conflict.
Provide support and supervision for volunteer groups and individuals. Communicate and support special activities, events, and projects across teams to ensure positive outcomes.
3+ years' experience in a ministry, non-profit, or human services team environment with supervisory and strong customer service duties.
Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, human services, or other relevant area preferred, or a combination of education and additional work experience.
Ability to lead a small team.
Understanding of security and safety standards.
Understanding of client confidentiality standards.
Excellent conflict resolution and reporting skills.
Trauma-Informed care and knowledge of population served.
Preferred
Certified in Mental Health First Aid.
Certified in Non-violent Crisis Intervention.
Certified in Motivational Interviewing.
First Aid/CPR, F-80 Fire Safety Certification.
Salary: $26.44 per hour
