Job description

Description

Quantum Machines is a global leader in hybrid control systems for quantum computing, a field on the verge of exponential growth.

Our innovative hardware and software offer a groundbreaking approach to controlling quantum computers, scaling from individual qubits to arrays of thousands.

We are looking for a highly experienced Research Scientist for Cryogenic Electronics Team.

If you are super talented, ready to learn new things, and a real team player – your place is with us.

Why QM

  • Direct path from blue-sky research to deployed quantum-computing hardware.
  • Access to in-house qubit-control electronics, cryo-RF labs and top academic collaborators.
  • Competitive salary, stock options, pension and six weeks’ vacation.
  • Travel budget for collaborator site visits and major conferences.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Design and validate multilayer superconducting packaging that links qubit stacks to cryogenic electronics.
  • Run high-fidelity finite-element simulations to probe microwave integrity etc,and turn the results into design rules.
  • Specify test and outsourced fabrication, and lead cryogenic bring-up & metrology (VNA, TDR, qubit benchmarks).
  • Correlate packaging performance with qubit coherence and noise spectra in collaboration with QM device physicists and external partners.
  • Communicate results via internal white papers, conference abstracts and partner workshops, always safeguarding project confidentiality.

Requirements:

  • PhD (or MSc + equivalent experience) in physics, electrical engineering or materials science with 3 years research on cryogenic or high-frequency hardware.
  • Expert-level skill with 3-D EM/FEM tools.
  • Clear scientific writing and storytelling in English; comfortable syncing work across time zones.
  • EU citizenship or Danish work-permit eligibility; Danish language optional.
  • Hands-on familiarity with dilution refrigerators, superconducting-qubit measurement, and low-temperature RF wiring is a strong plus.
  • If your path is unconventional but the science excites you, we still want to hear from you.
