Job description

About Us

At Prenuvo, we are on a mission to flip the paradigm from reactive “sick-care” to proactive health care. Our award-winning whole body scan is fast (under 1 hour), safe (MRI has no ionizing radiation), and non-invasive (no contrast). Our unique integrated stack of optimized hardware, software, and increasingly AI, coupled with the patient-centric experience across our domestic and global clinics, have allowed us to lead the change against “we caught it too late again".

We’re looking for a PACS Implementation Specialist (Contract) with a strong background in software development and imaging informatics to lead the deployment and integration of advanced PACS, RIS, and related systems in healthcare environments. You’ll work at the intersection of clinical workflows, imaging data standards, and custom IT solutions—ensuring seamless interoperability and performance in mission-critical healthcare systems.

Please note that this is a contract role with the potential to transition into a full-time position, depending on performance and business needs.

Help reshape the world through proactive healthcare while working with cutting-edge technology and high performing teams with deep expertise - join us to make a difference in people’s lives!

What You’ll Do

  • Design and implement PACS and imaging workflow solutions across clinics and regions.
  • Lead technical integration efforts involving DICOM, HL7, RIS and EMR.
  • Develop and support custom interfaces, scripts, and middleware to optimize workflow and connectivity.
  • Design workflows for automated image post-processing, annotation, and triage using third-party or in-house AI tools.
  • Translate clinical and operational needs into technical specifications and system architectures.
  • Collaborate closely with radiologists, IT teams, vendors, and clinical leadership during implementations.
  • Troubleshoot complex imaging IT issues including image routing, modality worklists, and storage/archive configurations.
  • Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and interoperability standards (e.g., HIPAA, IHE).
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and contribute to strategic product and infrastructure planning.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Health Informatics, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience with PACS/RIS deployment, system integration, or clinical IT architecture.
  • Deep understanding of DICOM (C-FIND, C-MOVE, C-STORE) and HL7 v2.x standards.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more PACS platforms (e.g., Sectra, Intellerad, Philips, Fuji, Orthanc).
  • Understanding of how to orchestrate AI inference workflows, including pre-processing, modality triggers, and result handling.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming/scripting language (Python, Java, C#, Bash, etc.).
  • Experience working with integration engines (e.g., Mirth Connect, Rhapsody).
  • Strong knowledge of clinical imaging workflows across radiology and teleradiology.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage projects with multiple stakeholders.

Highly Desired Skills

  • Experience with IHE profiles (e.g., XDS, XDS-I, PIX/PDQ).
  • Familiarity with FHIR and modern RESTful API integration techniques.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based imaging solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience with teleradiology workflows, remote image delivery, and DICOM routing optimization.
  • Certifications such as CIIP, HL7, IHE, or vendor-specific credentials.
  • Prior work in hospital environments during EHR/PACS modernization projects.
  • Familiarity with AI model hosting platforms, containerization (e.g., Docker), or orchestrators (e.g., Kubernetes, NVIDIA Clara, MONAI Deploy).
  • Exposure to AI model lifecycle management, including testing, validation, and performance monitoring in clinical environments.
