Job description

 

Job Location: Tech Center – Remote 

 

Summary:

Under minimal guidance, the Quality Specialist’s primary job responsibility is to develop product quality specifications (PQS) for all items being run at internal Hershey US plants as well as contract manufacturing locations in US/Canada and co-packing facilities.  In addition to developing new specifications employee must maintain accurate product quality specifications and product information bulletin documents for existing items.

Additional responsibilities include maintaining SharePoint and Teams sites for External Manufacturing Quality program.

 

Scope of Responsibility:

  • Use information from multiple sources and work cross-functionally to obtain data to complete product specifications to ensure proper manufacture and assembly of finished good items.   These specifications are critical to ensure contract manufacturing partners and co-packers are building accurate items for our customers.  This must be done timely & accurately.
  • Work within the PLM system to complete the Quality Spec Builder (QSB) tasks.
  • Maintain the user list, access controls and content for SharePoint and Teams sites for External Manufacturing Quality in collaboration with others in QRC.
  • Act as liaison between the international team and US operations to resolve consumer and customer complaints from the AEMEA and LATAM regions.
  • Work independently with PLM and Accolade tools to determine priorities to ensure business needs are being met.
  • Identify & resolve
  • Maintain job aids and standard operating procedures for each type of PQS report.
  • Act as liaison between the international team and US operations to resolve consumer and customer complaints from the AEMEA and LATAM regions.
  • Working closely with IS, continually hone the data process to evolve the reports

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Attention to detail in this role is critical as the employee must compare information from multiple sources to verify accuracy and perform follow up with other functions to remedy any issues that may be identified.
  • The employee should have working knowledge of Hershey date code strategy, net weight requirements, and product quality expectations.
  • The employee must have good multitasking skills to handle multiple projects at one time.
  • Strong computer and document management skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in verbal and written form.
  • Strong problem solving/trouble shooting skills.
  • Strong leadership and ownership skills
  • Proficiency in computer programs / software such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, SAP, PDM, SharePoint, Accolade.
  • Patience, perseverance & flexibility,

 

Minimum Requirements and Education:

  • Education:  B.S. in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field preferred or equivalent related experience
  • Experience:  1-3 years related experience
