Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled SAS Programmer with demonstrated experience working with large-scale EHR and claims databases. In this role, you will support the extraction, transformation, and analysis of real-world healthcare data to generate insights for clinical studies, epidemiologic research, and regulatory submissions.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, validate, and maintain SAS programs for data management, statistical analysis, and reporting of real-world healthcare data.
Perform data extraction, cleaning, transformation, and analysis using SAS from complex longitudinal datasets such as EHRs and medical/pharmacy claims.
Collaborate with epidemiologists, statisticians, and data scientists to define data specifications, analysis plans, and output requirements.
Ensure data integrity and adherence to protocols, SOPs, and regulatory standards (e.g., CDISC, FDA guidelines).
Document programming processes, data flows, and analytic methods for reproducibility and audit readiness.
Participate in client meetings and communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications:

Required:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Computer Science, Health Informatics, or related field.
3+ years of experience programming in SAS, especially with large healthcare datasets.
Strong understanding of real-world data sources including EHRs (e.g., Epic, Cerner) and claims databases (e.g., MarketScan, Optum, Medicare).
Experience with cohort creation, incidence/prevalence analysis, and longitudinal data modeling.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred:

Experience working in a CRO, pharma, payer, or HEOR/RWE consultancy environment.
Experience integrating SAS with SQL databases or cloud-based analytics platforms.
Familiarity with other statistical programming tools (e.g., R, Python) is a plus.
