IT Support Specialist (Junior)

Overview of the Position: The IT Support Specialist (Junior) will provide essential technical support and IT

management services for the Navy customer. This role involves issuing, troubleshooting, and monitoring command mobile devices, maintaining IT equipment, and assisting with helpdesk inquiries. The specialist will also manage mobile device databases and support various IT-related tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Issue, troubleshoot, and monitor command mobile devices, external hard drives, computer headsets, and phone headsets.
  • Maintain and update the office "Process Desk Guides (PDGs)" under their cognizance, functioning as an "operations manual."
  • Assist the Helpdesk Lead with IT helpdesk inquiries and track helpdesk issues via the SharePoint portal ticketing system. Tasks may include toner replacements, cubicle and office setups, Teams/GVS/VTC/SVTC setups, Cisco desk phone setups, voicemail PIN resets, and software resolutions.
  • Maintain the master mobile device database and track Mobile User Agreements (MUA).
  • Assist users with initial setup and mandated updates of mobile devices
  • Assist users with Microsoft Teams (MS Teams), Global Video Services (GVS), VTC (Video Teleconference), and Secure VTC (SVTC) setups using the SharePoint tracking system.
  • Assist users with desk phone setup within the Cisco Unity and Cisco Call Manager applications.
  • Assist the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) with DMCC-S devices, including assignment and troubleshooting.
  • Assist with the disposal of retiring government assets and property through DLA Disposition Services,

Skills And Abilities

  • Familiarity with Windows 10/11 operating systems and Apple/Android mobile devices.
  • Strong organizational and technical skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Proficiency in using IT management and ticketing systems.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • CompTIA Sec+ certification.
  • Two years of experience in a helpdesk or equivalent technical support position.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders and maintain effective coordination with DoN and DoD offices.
  • SECRET security clearance
