Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Manager of Product to lead our Data Management Platform product portfolio. In this role, you will oversee the evolution and optimization of our platform. This individual will be responsible for enhancing and evolving the product strategy, managing the ongoing success of our established data platform, and driving the continuous improvement of how we manage data. The ideal candidate will combine a deep understanding of data flows, data transformations, big data ecosystems with strong business acumen to drive value for our clients and partners.

Responsibilities
  • Product Strategy & Vision
  • Refine and drive the roadmap for our Data Management Platform, ensuring alignment with long-term company goals and customer needs
  • Identify opportunities for product enhancements that improve data ingestion, transformation, and real-time data processing to enable precise audience segmentation, targeting and digital activation in the ad tech space.
  • Team Leadership
  • Lead and mentor a team of 4-5 senior product managers and technical product leads, ensuring alignment with the company’s broader strategic goals and industry needs
  • Provide guidance on prioritization and problem-solving, and execution to help the team stay focused on delivering high-impact solutions tied to data integration and activation pipelines
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and high performance
  • Data Expertise & Integration
  • Ensure the platform efficiently handles the ingestion, transformation, and integration of data from a variety of external data sources across a mature data ecosystem
  • Work closely with engineering teams to ensure ongoing optimization, scalability, and reliability of existing data solutions
  • Oversee the evolution of our data platform, ensuring seamless data ingestion, processing, and delivery
  • Execution & Delivery
  • Serve as a Scrum Master when necessary, guiding agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and retrospectives for continuous delivery
  • Drive the evolution of our product development lifecycle (PDLC), ensuring efficient and effective execution across teams
  • Provide leadership in managing the lifecycle of the platform, balancing ongoing maintenance, and optimization for existing and new integrations as well as the development of new features that meet evolving in the digital space
  • Stakeholder Management
  • Collaborate with internal engineering, architecture, data science, marketing, and sales teams to ensure alignment and execution of the product vision
  • Communicate product updates, insights and strategic direction to leadership and stakeholders, ensuring ensuring transparency and alignment around product goals

  • Qualifications
  • 8-10+ years in product management, with at least 3+ years in a leadership or senior management role
  • Strong knowledge in building and management of mature, big data ecosystems (e.g. Snowflake, Databricks, Kafka), with a focus on optimizing existing systems
  • Expertise in data pipelines, data transformation, metadata management, and integration within a mature technology stack
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams in an agile environment, with a background as a Scrum Master or in Agile methodology
  • Strong technical background with experience in back-end systems and close collaboration with engineering teams
  • Excellent strategic thinking and communication skills, with the ability to bridge technical solutions with business outcomes in the ad-tech industry
  • Technical degree (CS, Data Science, Engineering) or equivalent experience
  • Experience working in SaaS or enterprise software environments with mature, large-scale platforms
  • Knowledge of data privacy, governance, and compliance standards (e.g. GDPR, HIPAA) applicable to mature platforms
  • Previous hands-on experience with product lifecycle tools (Jira, Confluence, etc)

    A reasonable estimate of salary range for a new employee to be offered this role would be $50,000 - $185,000 which would be adjusted based on each employee's geographic location.  The position of each employee within a compensation range at Nielsen is dependent on several individual circumstances, such as experience, training, certifications and other business requirements/needs.
