Description

IgniteAction, a joint venture between ActioNet and Ignite has an immediate opening for a  an experienced and hands-on Cloud Management Lead to spearhead the design, deployment, and leadership of enterprise cloud infrastructure and operations. This role requires deep technical expertise in AWS, infrastructure automation, Oracle environments, and DevOps methodologies, as well as a strong background in leading teams and driving strategic cloud adoption initiatives. The ideal candidate will be both a technical expert and a collaborative leader who can manage complex cloud environments, support business-critical applications, and guide cross-functional teams in modernizing infrastructure practices. 

Location:  Remote (Primary)+ May be required to Travel to Suitland, MD. as needed

As the Cloud Management Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing cloud infrastructure planning, automation, security, and operations, while also mentoring junior engineers, collaborating with stakeholders, and ensuring alignment with industry best practices and compliance standards. You will lead the cloud strategy for Oracle and IIS-based applications and ensure scalable, secure, and highly available cloud solutions in AWS GovCloud and commercial AWS environments.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the architecture, implementation, and management of AWS cloud infrastructure, with emphasis on GovCloud and compliance-driven environments
  • Architect and support Oracle and IIS-based application infrastructure in AWS, including EC2, RDS (Oracle), ELB, Route 53, VPC, and CloudFront
  • Manage AWS storage solutions such as S3, EBS, EFS, Glacier, and Storage Gateway for backup, disaster recovery, and archiving strategies
  • Ensure secure cloud operations through IAM policies, encryption, MFA, security groups, and network ACLs
  • Drive adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and AWS CloudFormation for automated, repeatable, and scalable deployments
  • Oversee CI/CD pipeline setup and maintenance using Jenkins and GitHub Actions to support code deployment for multi-language applications
  • Monitor infrastructure and application performance through AWS CloudWatch, implement alerts, and respond to incidents in accordance with SLAs
  • Utilize Amazon EKS for container orchestration, deploying and managing Docker containers in high-availability Kubernetes clusters
  • Lead technical teams, mentor junior engineers, assign tasks, and ensure consistent delivery of cloud services across multiple environments
  • Collaborate with database teams on Oracle DB installation, patching, backup, schema cloning, performance tuning, and PL/SQL development
  • Participate in regular security audits, enforce NIST and organizational compliance standards, and manage remediation activities
  • Coordinate cross-functional planning with developers, project managers, and stakeholders to align cloud initiatives with business goals
  • Document cloud architectures, procedures, and workflows to ensure operational continuity and transparency
  • Manage GitHub repositories, branching strategies, and access control to support secure and efficient code integration
  • Support traditional system administration tasks, including Windows Server and Linux VM setup, Active Directory configuration, and VMware administration
Basic Qualifications (Required)
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Cloud Computing, or a related field
  • 7+ years of experience in cloud operations or infrastructure management
  • Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Strong understanding of cloud security, compliance, and cost optimization
Preferred Qualifications
  • Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Azure Administrator, Google Professional Cloud Engineer)
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible)
  • Familiarity with federal IT security standards (FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST)
