Controller | Hybrid in NYC

CFS is partnering with a mission-driven nonprofit leading innovation in legal services and technology. They’re hiring a Controller to oversee accounting operations with a strong focus on payroll management and leadership. What You’ll Do

  • Lead and oversee payroll operations (ADP) including GL activity, month-end entries, and variance reporting
  • Manage month-end close (5-day cycle), year-end audit, and external reporting
  • Oversee AP/AR, budgeting, and team leadership within a highly capable and supportive environment
  • Collaborate on international and acquisition accounting, including a recent SaaS integration
  • Partner with leadership on process improvements and financial systems (NetSuite)
  • Build strong relationships across your team and the organization—consistent check-ins and communication are key

What We’re Looking For

  • 7–10+ years of experience in accounting, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership capacity
  • Deep experience with payroll and accounting oversight; experience with ADP and NetSuite is a plus
  • Comfortable in mid-sized or larger company settings; nonprofit experience welcome but not required
  • Knowledge of international and acquisition accounting preferred
  • A collaborative, communicative leader—transparent, adaptable, and invested in team success
