Controller Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Accounting preferred); CPA strongly preferred.
8+ years of accounting experience, including 3+ years in a leadership or supervisory role.
Strong understanding of financial compliance, reporting, and audit practices –public accounting experience is a plus.
Hands-on experience with UNANET is required.
Background in small to mid-sized government contracting (GovCon) environments is highly desirable.
Comfortable presenting financials and insights directly to ownership or executive teams.
Controller Responsibilities
Lead core accounting functions, including oversight of AP and AR, while mentoring a small internal team.
Partner with HR to support payroll processes (currently outsourced).
Ensure financial compliance with government contract requirements – SCA experience is a strong plus.
Manage monthly close, invoicing via UNANET, and prepare detailed financial reports for senior leadership.
Contribute to audits, process improvement, and strategic planning conversations.
