As a Manager, Global Independence System your responsibilities will include:
Manage the day-to-day process of responding to personal independence related questions from client facing colleagues
Oversee the personal independence audits of the firm including selecting individuals for audit, carrying out the audit and reporting on the results of the audit
Understand public markets and how to use online resources (regulatory filings, annual reports, etc.) to assist in maintaining the Firm’s listing of publicly listed audit clients
Propose, plan and implement changes to the independence audit process, including leveraging new or existing technologies, to improve the effectiveness and efficiency within the program.
Work with the National Director Ethics & Independence to manage the Firm’s personal independence obligations
Draft and update policies related to personal independence as needed
Co-lead a team of three colleagues
Ability to handle sensitive/confidential information appropriately
Take-on other special-projects as requested

Undergraduate degree or diploma in a related field
A very good understanding of financial products including stocks, bonds, ETFs and mutual funds
4+ years of experience in a public accounting firm, supporting quality or risk systems, or in a similar practice or function
Previous experience managing teams or previous supervision and development of colleagues on a formal / informal basis
Understanding of corporate ownership structures and terminology (parent, subsidiary, brother-sister, joint venture, global ultimate owner/parent)
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to assume, prioritize, and execute multiple assignments
Takes direction well, while also having a natural disposition to develop and invest in colleagues and operate in a self-directed and results-oriented manner
Ability to interact professionally with Partners and all levels of employees as well as external vendors and clients
A team player and ability to work with others to accomplish a common goal
