SAIC is seeking a Mission Thread Systems Engineer you will support of the NRO’s GEOINT Ground Office on SAIC’s Prime Program, Landmark AOS in Chantilly, VA.
As the Mission Thread Systems Engineer, you be actively performing engineering analysis, ensuring programs successfully deliver core mission processing services in all phases of the acquisition life cycle. You will also be part of a highly diversified team supporting Ground Intelligence acquisitions and providing cutting-edge capabilities to the intelligence community (IC).
Your responsibilities will include
Provide day-to-day collaboration with development contractors, other Government program office personnel, and Government Customers on systems engineering and acquisition functions in the domain area of GEOINT collection, mission management and mission processing.
Work with Acquisition SETAs in the role of oversight, monitoring software development and integration activities, ensuring alignment with Government requirements and objectives.
Retain cognizance of wide variety of GEOINT mission projects including, technical baseline, project schedules, dependencies, risks, and cost.
Advise Senior and Mid-Level managers on architectural decisions to include investment strategies, acquisition portfolio priorities, and risk assessment of project execution.
Conduct Strategic planning for both mission architecture (technical trade studies, definition of future architecture planning, software service recommendations etc.) and programmatic needs (Program Budget Guidance, cost estimation, generation of acquisition schedules).
Accomplish performance assessment and provide estimates of cost, schedule, and risk impacts to existing Ground architecture implementations.
Provide technical and cost assessment of vendor proposals, review technical reports, design artifacts, and develop program plans.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience. Relevant experience to be substituted in lieu of degree.
Active Top Secret/SCI with a Poly.
Experience supporting IC and/or Commercial GEOINT systems and capability development.
Knowledge of fundamentals of IC GEOINT systems, preferably focused on Collection Management.
Demonstrated understanding of GEOINT mission user needs and operational environments.
Experience in engineering or acquisition of IC/DoD systems.
Knowledge of acquisition roles, processes, and/or experience in IC/DoD Project or Program Management.
