Adjunct Faculty are hired each semester on an as-needed basis. Adjunct Faculty are responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
This is not to be construed as an exhaustive list. Other duties logically associated with this position may be assigned. All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.

Cloud Technologies (Cloud -SVAD Coursework) Program Standard:
A qualified faculty member in Cloud Technologies meets the program standard through one of four routes:
SVAD 111 Course Standard:
A qualified faculty member teaching SVAD 111 meets the Cloud Technologies program standard and holds a valid, non-expired Linux Professional Institute – Linux Essentials Technician certification or higher-level Linux certification; or two years of documented server administration professional employment.
OR
A qualified faculty member teaching SVAD 111 has documentation of an earned out-of-field bachelor’s degree, from a regionally accredited institution, and holds a valid, non-expired Linux Professional Institute – Linux Essentials Technician certification or higher-level Linux certification with documentation in one or more of the following ways:
a. Four years of documented server administration professional employment
b. Documentation of research and publication in the field related to the topics in the course
c. Documented additional coursework beyond the bachelor’s degree, equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent subject matter coursework, CEU’s, vendor, or military.
SVAD 116 Course Standard:
A qualified faculty member teaching SVAD 116 meets the Cloud Technologies program standard and holds a valid, non-expired CompTIA Linux+ certification or higher-level Linux certification, or two years of documented systems administration professional employment.
SVAD 117 Course Standard:
A qualified faculty member teaching SVAD 117 meets the Cloud Technologies program standard and holds a valid, non-expired CompTIA Linux+ certification or higher-level Linux certification, or two years of documented systems administration professional employment.
SVAD 121 Course Standard
A qualified faculty member teaching SVAD 121 meets the Cloud Technologies program standard
OR
Documentation of an earned out-of-field bachelor’s degree, from a regionally accredited institution with documentation in one or more of the following ways:
a. Four years of documented server administration professional employment
b. Documentation of research and publication in the field related to topics in the course
c. Documented additional coursework beyond the bachelor’s degree, equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent subject matter coursework, CEU’s, vendor, or military.
SVAD 150 Course Standard:
A qualified faculty member teaching SVAD 150 meets the Cloud Technologies program standard and holds a valid, non-expired AWS Cloud Practitioner or higher-level certification, and meets all other AWS requirements.
OR
Possess an earned out-of-field bachelor’s degree, from a regionally accredited institution, and holds a valid, non-expired AWS Cloud Practitioner or higher-level certification, and meets all other AWS requirements with documentation in one or more of the following ways:
a. Four years of Information Technology field professional employment related to cloud technologies\systems administration
b. Documentation of research and publication in the field
c. Documented additional coursework beyond the bachelor’s degree, equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent subject matter coursework, CEU’s, vendor, or military.
SVAD 220 Course Standard:
A qualified faculty member teaching SVAD 220 meets the Cloud Technologies program standard and holds a valid, non-expired AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification or higher-level certification, and meets all other AWS requirements.
SVAD 221 Course Standard:
A qualified faculty member teaching SVAD 221 meets the Cloud Technologies program standard and holds a valid, non-expired AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification or higher-level certification, and meets all other AWS requirements.
SVAD 216 Course Standard:
A qualified faculty member teaching SVAD 216 meets the Cloud Technologies program standard and holds a valid, non-expired Linux Professional Institute – Advanced certification, or two years of documented systems administration professional employment.
SVAD 231 Course Standard:
A qualified faculty member teaching SVAD 231 meets the Cloud Technologies program standard and holds a valid, non-expired 70-410 certification or higher Microsoft certified professional certification, or two years of documented systems administration professional employment.
SVAD 236 Course Standard:
A qualified faculty member teaching SVAD 236 meets the Cloud Technologies (SVAD) program standard and holds a valid, non-expired 70-411 certification or higher Microsoft certified professional certification, or two years of documented systems administration professional employment.
SVAD 241 Course Standard:
A qualified faculty member teaching SVAD 241 meets the Cloud Technologies program standard and holds a valid, non-expired 70-412 certification or higher Microsoft certified professional certification, or two years of documented systems administration professional employment.
SVAD 250 Course Standard:
A qualified faculty member teaching SVAD 250 meets the Cloud Technologies program standard and holds a valid, non-expired Linux Professional Institute – Advanced certification, or two years of documented systems administration professional employment.
