The IT Security Engineer will ensure all EOS Energy company data are kept confidential and secured. The position will provide valuable recommendations on improvements on a continuous basis for proper data handling and management as well as developing best practice for access control, internet and intranet infrastructure. The IT Security Engineer role will be a combination of design engineering and implementation skillsets
The IT Security Engineer role will require both the expertise of infrastructure security as well as managing and supporting all Eos Energy systems and network environments. The core responsibility is the design, implementation, and managing security measures to protect Eos’s computer systems, networks, and data. Also, other key responsibilities are to identify vulnerabilities, respond to security incidents, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Develop and implement best practices and security standards for the organization for account management, email, privilege/access control, data handling and sharing, site access security, and exposure of confidential information.
Perform mandates of security analyzation of all business-related systems and networks and provide recommendations including the design, implementation, and management of security solutions; firewalls, IDS/IPS, and SIEM systems.
Be the lead and point of contact for Eos Energy to perform required risk assessments, regular vulnerability scans, and proper mitigation steps against suspicious activity or potential threats.
Understand the scope of all software and hardware used for operations and provide key concepts for proper business use including a thorough assessment of Eos‘s environment.
Monitor network traffic and systems logs for suspicious activity and potential threats using tools
Collaborate with IT team and other departments to integrate security best practices.
Design and maintain security measures of the OT environment from industrial computers, servers, network, and access control.
Perform audit of all systems and endpoints ensuring compliance with all of Eos’s security agent software; EDR, RMM, etc.
Partner with the IT Technical writer to create and properly layout documentations, procedures, and policies for IT internal and companywide use
Demonstrate a high level of customer service, providing professionalism and proper communication with all users at Eos Energy.
Stay up to date with emerging threats and security technologies.
On-call support for any after-hours security alerts to acknowledge, investigate, confirm, respond, and resolve in a timely manner to prevent and limit any risk to Eos’s data.
Work with IT System Administrators and Network Engineers to support further securing of their respective platforms. This in includes Servers, Hypervisors, PCs, Switching/Routing, Firewalls, Wireless Network
Provide advisory and technical guidance on Office 365 security best practices, as well as Azure policy development and implementation
Required to travel to other remote sites as needed
Require for after hours and weekend work
Participate in training and development of other team members
Lifting heavy equipment as needed and at times assisted
Strong knowledge of security tools and technologies (e.g. SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, AV, DLP)
Strong knowledge of next-gen firewalls both on configuration, design, and deployment
Familiar with security frameworks including regulatory requirements and industry standards (ISO27001, NIST, etc.)
Proficient in security in Cloud to Hybrid infrastructure required (VMWare, Azure, AWS, etc.)
Technical experience in Windows Server environment including Linux
Exceptional networking skills and knowledge of overall server environment methodology
Excellent and effective communication skills
Strong attention to detail and proactive approach on identifying and addressing security issues
5+ years’ experience in IT security with intermediate experience in systems and networking methodologies (TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP)
Experience in data management and access control security methodology
Experience creating automated scripts; PowerShell, VB, C++ etc.
Bachelor's degree in computer science or computer engineering or equivalent technical experience/certification
Additional certifications: CISM, Microsoft Certified, CEH, CCISP
Local Travel: 10-25%
Overnight/North America: 10-25%
Office Environment - Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time and occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading. May be required to exert up to 25 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
