About the role
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Consultant Administrator to join our dynamic and growing Consultant Support team. This pivotal role provides essential administrative and finance-related support to our expanding community of self-employed Consultant Partners, ensuring a seamless experience from client onboarding through to matter management and invoicing.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong background in legal or professional services administration, particularly with experience in legal finance, client onboarding, and document handling. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Commercial Director and the wider Consultant Community, helping to drive operational efficiency and ensure compliance with firm protocols.

Key responsibilities
Finance & Fee Share Administration
- Raise invoices on behalf of Consultant Partners in accordance with agreed terms and firm processes.
- Support Consultant Partners in raising draft client invoices in accordance with our key terms and firm processes.
- Monitor and manage credit control for consultant-billed matters; liaise with clients and finance team to ensure timely payments.
- Act as the first point of contact for Consultant Partners in relation to fee share calculations, personal billing queries, and financial reporting.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of billings, payments, and associated fee share reconciliations.
Consultant support
- Provide general administrative support to Consultant Partners, including document formatting and file opening.
- Respond to onboarding queries from new Consultant Partners and provide guidance on internal processes and systems.
- Act as a liaison between Consultant Partners and internal support teams (finance, central admin, compliance and IT) to troubleshoot and resolve queries.
- Support the wider administration teams as required from time to time.
Operational & process support
- Maintain accurate records of all Consultant Partner activities and communications in the firm’s document management system or equivalent.
- Assist with the preparation of reports, updates, and dashboards for the Commercial Director.
- Identify opportunities to streamline administrative processes to enhance the Consultant experience.
About you
Essential
- Proven experience in an administrative or finance support role within a law firm or professional services environment.
- Solid understanding of legal billing processes, credit control, and professional fee structures (including fee sharing).
- Strong familiarity with conflict checks, KYC, AML requirements, and SRA compliance standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, particularly in document formatting and data entry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with legal practice management systems (Peppermint or equivalent).
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
- A proactive, solutions-focused attitude with a commitment to excellent service delivery.
Desirable
- Experience supporting self-employed lawyers or consultant solicitor platforms.
- Prior exposure to legal finance software (Peppermint, Sage, Xero).
- Understanding of GDPR and data protection principles within a legal environment.
- Understanding of the Solicitors Accounts rules.
