Description

We have an opening for a remote, contract career coach based in Montreal, Canada to support our Relocation and Outplacement solutions.   We support employees who are relocating due to their company's initiatives.  Our coaches assist the employees/families with integration into the new area, and the accompanying spouses/partners with job search strategies to help them find new employment/career opportunities or career continuation.  

The Coach works in a 1:1 capacity with the program participants by using IMPACT Group's technology and coaching methodology. This is a part-time, contract, and working from home/remote position, approximately 10-20 hours per month.

  • Establishes rapport with employees and motivates them to achieve goals.
  • Guides employees through coaching process and milestone completion.
  • Advises and coaches career development, transition issues and career options, including career continuation for expats.
  • Coaches on CV/résumé writing, effective marketing techniques, interviewing and negotiating.
  • Maintains electronic service delivery record for each employee serviced, according to the internal guide.
  • Monitors progress of employees, consults with them on specific subjects to improve their job search skills and knowledge and deals with personal issues that are affecting their careers.

Requirements:

  • At least 7 years experience coaching others in job search. Experience with resume/CV development, interview preparation, career exploration, LinkedIn profiles, networking, negotiation, and other aspects of job search coaching.
  • Demonstrated expertise in facilitation and business coaching.
  • Experience working with job seekers on job searches in the Montreal area.
  • Very strong verbal / written communication skills (bilingual--English & French required).
  • Experience supporting/training clients in cultural awareness/differences and integrating into new countries.
  • Able to analyze and appropriately address integration and transitional needs. 
  • Ability to engage and foster positive relationships with program participants/clients.
  • Understanding of business and cultural practices within Montreal and surrounding areas.
  • Currently lives and/or works in Montreal.
  • High-speed internet connection on a personal computer; headset with a microphone will be required (remote work).
  • Experience working with job seekers of various professions and levels.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a discipline involving the study of human behavior, business or related field preferred.
  • Coaching certificate or training.
  • Familiarity with Zoom & MS Teams.
  • Has personally relocated to a different country/Repat to Canada preferred.
  • Fluently speaks both languages:  (English/French).
