Job description

Job Title: Part-Time Substitute Leadership Coach

Team: Product

Location: Remote from one of our current Braven operating states: GA, IL, DE, MA, NY, NJ, DC

Employment Type: Temporary Part-time

Start Date: August 2025

Duration: Seasonal from August 2025 - December 2025

Hours: 6 hours per week, dependent on substitute openings, with majority of hours worked after business hours, Monday through Friday

Hourly Rate: $25/hr

About the Role

In order to achieve its ambition of serving 80,000-100,000 Fellows over the next decade, Braven is hiring part-time Substitute Leadership Coaches (LCs) to facilitate Braven’s Accelerator Learning Labs when there are LC absences. A Substitute LC will lead a two-hour virtual class for a cohort of 5-8 Fellows using an established curriculum. In this role, you will gain experience in teaching and facilitation while positively impacting the lives of hundreds of college students. 

Training will be provided.

This role is on the Product team and reports directly to the Manager, Accelerator Operations.

What You’ll Do 

Facilitate virtual Accelerator Learning Labs as a substitute for absent LCs 

  • Prepare to facilitate Braven content by meeting with the Braven team and practicing independently
  • Attend all LC trainings (~6 total training hours) to be equipped with the knowledge and skills to facilitate Learning Labs and work with Fellows effectively
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Minimum Requirements 
  • At least 2 years of experience with teaching, facilitation, and/or public speaking

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exceptional teaching, facilitation, and/or public speaking skills 
  • Familiarity with Zoom and facilitating in a virtual environment
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Eagerness to learn and openness to feedback
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion.
  • Exemplification of Braven’s core values.
  • Experience that has informed your belief in Braven’s mission and have prepared you to work with, or for, Braven’s student Fellow population.

Availability

You must be consistently available during at least three of the following times per week to facilitate virtual Learning Labs, including our highest-need times on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 4-11 PM ET. The highest-need times are below in bold. Our fall semester runs from roughly mid-August to mid-December. When possible, we will develop an on-call schedule for substitute opportunities one week in advance.

  • Wednesday from 3-5PM ET / 2-4PM CT / 12-2PM PT
  • Wednesday from 7-9PM ET / 6-8PM CT / 4-6PM PT
  • Wednesday from 6-8PM ET / 5-7PM CT / 3-5PM PT
  • Thursday from 10:30AM-12:30PM ET / 9:30-11:30AM CT / 7:30-9:30AM PT
  • Thursday from 3-5PM ET / 2-4PM CT / 12-2PM PT
