Transportation Project Engineer

This position is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and highly skilled transportation professional who wishes to be part of our expanding team. We are seeking candidates who want to work in a creative and collaborative environment to successfully deliver Muller’s numerous transportation projects throughout the Rocky Mountain Region.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Design transportation facilities, including interstate highways, interchanges, urban and rural roadways, and multimodal facilities
  • Prepare studies, reports, plans, and construction packages for a wide variety of transportation projects
  • Support Project Managers with client relations, stakeholder management, and subconsultant coordination
  • Coordinate and work with a team of project managers, design engineers, technicians, and support staff to successfully complete a variety of projects
  • Guide and mentor junior engineers and technicians on various design support tasks
  • Take ownership of projects from start to finish
  • Lead design for multidisciplinary projects
  • Perform field observation work when necessary
  • Other duties as assigned

Education And/or Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university
  • 6-10 years of experience in the design of transportation facilities
  • Knowledge and experience with MicroStation/OpenRoads or AutoCAD/Civil 3D, and other applicable software common to the field of transportation engineering
  • Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office products
  • Experience with Colorado DOT (or other state DOT) plan preparation procedures and standards
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented professional with strong organizational skills
  • A desire to grow personally and professionally while working in a team environment to create designs supporting our clients’ overall project goals
  • Hydraulics and/or traffic experience is a plus

Required License Or Certification

  • Active Colorado Professional Engineer license or ability to transfer a license from another state within 6 months of employment.

Salary range for this position is: $95,000/yr - $120,000/yr and is dependent on individual education, experience and qualifications
