Job description

Our client, a leading technology organization, is seeking a Data Center Technician - Technical IT 1 to join their team. As a Data Center Technician, you will be part of the IT department supporting critical operations. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, effective communication abilities, and a customer-focused mindset, which will align successfully within the organization.

Job Title: Data Center Technician - Technical IT 1

Location: Sterling, VA - onsite

Duration: 18 Months on W2

Pay Range: $21 - $24/hour

What's the Job?

  • Monitor the system for equipment failure or errors in performance.
  • Respond to program error messages by identifying and correcting issues or terminating the program.
  • Assist programmers and systems analysts in testing and debugging new programs.
  • Operate spreadsheet programs and other software to load, manipulate data, and produce reports.
  • Remove network cables as part of a datacenter decommission and follow procedures for equipment diagnostics and troubleshooting.


What's Needed?

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Flexibility to work non-standard business hours, including weekends and/or holidays.
  • Associate's degree in computer programming or equivalent training preferred.
