Job description

  • Ensuring that all vehicles conform to local, federal, and district standards, such as registration, inspections, for buses and all district vehicles
  • Maintain inventory of tools and parts for fleet services vehicle repairs
  • Manage work orders to completion, vendor repairs and data entry in the fleet management system
  • Develop and maintain database for all decommissioned vehicles and equipment in Oracle.
  • Ensuring that all district vehicles have a GPS tracking system.
  • Maintain department records in accordance with established policies, procedures, and audit guidelines
  • Recommend changes to programs, services, and/or Operations to ensure compliance
  • Maintain communication with departments and schools to provide user-friendly customer service and vehicle assistance
  • Coordinate and create processes and written procedures to guide staff to comply with department directives and district policies.
  • Coordinate with the process for applying for grants beneficial to Transportation, Fleet and Operations.
  • Work in conjunction and coordinate with the Deputy Chief, Director of Fleet Services, Fleet Manager, and non-fleet personnel.
  • Performs all other tasks and duties as assigned.
  • Three years of directly related experience or training in communications and organizations.
  • Demonstrated computer skills, specifically with MS Windows and MS Office Professional
  • Demonstrated excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills required to achieve the goals of the position
  • Demonstrated skills in both verbal and written communication
  • Demonstrated ability to provide information to staff in a way that maximizes productivity and efficiency
  • Demonstrated planning and problem-solving/investigative skills as required to research inquires related to job responsibilities
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple projects and assignments, high degree of flexibility required
  • Provide problem determination and resolution in response to software and hardware installations by designated personnel
  • Demonstrated ability to keep accurate records and prepare clear and concise written reports
  • Organize and manage routine work activities with an emphasis on prioritizing task and time
