Job description

The Head of Financial Operations is a strategic and results-oriented finance leader overseeing and optimizing the operational functions of our Financial Health organization. Operating as a "mini-CFO," this role is integral to driving financial performance, optimizing margins, and providing actionable insights to the General Manager. Head of Financial Operations will oversee P&L management, deliver regular financial updates, and collaborate cross-functionally to align operational execution with the company's strategic objectives.  This position collaborates regularly with Corporate Finance and FP&A function.

This role combines financial stewardship with operational excellence to drive value creation, enhance customer satisfaction, and support sustainable business growth. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this leader will collaborate with key stakeholders to align operational execution with the company’s overall goals, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of revenue cycle services and technology solutions.

Essential Functions: In addition to working as prescribed in our Performance Factors specific responsibilities of this role include:

  • Have profit-and-loss accountability, you must develop a strategic perspective on their business and their customers, a cross-functional view of the core capabilities of the broader organization and an integrated perspective of the company as a whole and how their part of the business fits in with the larger enterprise.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies with business teams to drive profitability and deliver on key performance metrics.
  • Partner with sales around pipeline review process to ensure pricing reviews are aligned.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth and effective processes across departments.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to achieve organizational goals and improve performance.
  • Serve as key advisor to GM, using facts, data, and analysis to make hard decisions and trade-offs, especially related to resource allocation and prioritization of strategic initiatives.
  • Analyze operational data to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
  • Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial planning for operational activities.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success.
  • Lead the development of financial strategies that support growth, innovation, and value delivery within the unit.
  • Deliver in-depth financial analysis to support board and operating reviews, SEC filings, and investor presentations.

Staff Management

Responsible for ensuring area of responsibility has the talent and resources to meet short- and long-term organizational goals as well as ensuring maximum productivity and performance.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Proactively recruit, screen, and select candidates for current and future resource requirements.
  • Effectively orient new hires to ensure a positive and productive employee engagement experience.
  • Ensure structure and hiring plans (within budget) are appropriate for performance and productivity levels required.
  • Utilize the company’s performance management program as designed to align individual performance to overall performance objectives.  Meet all completion requirements at a high quality level.  Provide ongoing performance feedback.  Identify and take appropriate action for non-performance.
  • Ensure each employee has a yearly performance review that is reviewed with employee and the review to be sent to Human Resources each year.
  • Ensure each employee has a clear and thorough understanding of their role and responsibilities.  Keep job descriptions current for each position.
  • Actively support and participate in organizational development and training programs.  Meet all completion requirements at a high quality level.
  • Mentor, guide, and coach direct reports in order to expand their capabilities and performance.
  • Communicate all corporate matters in a positive and timely manner as directed by Corporate Communications or senior managements. 
  • Administer all internal policies and procedures in accordance with corporate, human resources, budgetary, and finance guidelines.  Ensure accuracy of staff data records.

Minimum Requirements:

Education/Experience/Certification Requirements

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role, preferably in operations or business management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams.
  • Expertise in financial planning and budget management.
  • Knowledge of industry trends and best practices
  • Drive collaboration and knowledge sharing at all levels of the organization to achieve the best results.
