THE PORTFOLIO COMPANY

This key leadership role is in a high-growth, high-profit portfolio company of big thinkers and big doers. It is a CPG/beverage/dietary supplement company with a history of strong, profitable growth as the number one product and brand in its emerging category. Through its expanding sales and distribution network, the team is positioned to scale existing and new products globally, driving exponential revenue growth. With the leadership team in place, the opportunity is now to execute a scalable retail expansion strategy, optimize sales execution, and maximize category leadership on the path to a lucrative exit.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As the Controller, you will lead all financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, robust internal controls, and strategic financial planning. You will oversee accounting functions, manage compliance, and provide financial insights to support decision-making and growth initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee all core accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, payroll, and month-end close.
  • Prepare timely, accurate financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of internal controls, accounting policies, and operational processes.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local tax and regulatory requirements, including U.S. sales tax.
  • Coordinate and manage the annual audit process, serving as the primary liaison with external auditors.
  • Oversee treasury management, including cash flow forecasting and working capital optimization.
  • Lead and develop a small accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, learning, and performance.
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve the efficiency and accuracy of accounting operations.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with leadership to support company-wide decision-making.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • CPA designation required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a management role.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and experience in inventory-heavy businesses, ideally within the CPG industry.
  • Proven track record of enhancing internal controls and automating accounting processes.
  • Experience with treasury functions and cash management best practices.
  • Familiarity with NetSuite is a plus.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, fully remote environment.
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills.


COMPENSATION

A competitive base salary will be provided in this position, with an additional lucrative bonus plan based on performance. Full medical benefits are provided as part of this role. Options/equity will be provided to suitable candidates after completion of the first 90 days. This role also provides the opportunity for advancement in role, function, and pay.
