Technical Product Manager

Safe Software is looking for a Technical Product Manager to join our Foundation Group, a team responsible for the stability, scalability, and cross-platform compatibility of Safe Software’s core infrastructure, APIs, and installers. This is a pivotal role where you’ll shape the roadmap for foundational technologies that underpin every FME product and deployment—from on-premise environments to cloud marketplaces.

As we shift from a monolithic codebase to a modular, patchable delivery model with more frequent releases, this role is central to driving that transformation. You’ll guide strategy and development for modular installation initiatives and deployment pathways, ensuring our infrastructure supports evolving customer environments and enterprise expectations. Working cross-functionally with engineering, DevOps, product managers, and stakeholders, you will ensure FME continues to deliver seamless performance across all supported platforms.

About The Team

As part of the Product Management team, you’ll join a dynamic and cross-functional group of product professionals who guide the evolution of the FME platform. The team is responsible for driving product direction, aligning with Safe Software’s strategic goals, and delivering customer value while maintaining our competitive edge in the market.

The Foundation Group is a highly skilled, platform-focused team responsible for building and maintaining the critical infrastructure that powers all FME products. Their work ensures that every component—from APIs to installers—operates reliably, scales effectively, and performs seamlessly across multiple environments. As a deeply collaborative team, Foundation partners with other development groups to provide the tools, systems, and deployment options that make the FME Platform robust, flexible, and enterprise-ready.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Technical Product Manager, you will:

  • Develop and communicate a clear product roadmap for the Foundation Group, focusing on core infrastructure, modular installation, and deployment pathways across on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Define clear, technically detailed requirements for installers, APIs, and cross-platform infrastructure, ensuring alignment with product goals and enterprise customer needs.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, DevOps, QA, support, and other product teams to ensure technical feasibility, timely delivery, and alignment with platform-wide initiatives.
  • Integrate installer and infrastructure development into the broader product lifecycle, ensuring foundational work is scoped with clear goals, timelines, and coordinated releases alongside product features.
  • Contribute to specific FME Flow features or infrastructure-related projects, gaining experience across product areas while working closely with FME Flow Product Management for direction and support.
  • Partner with marketing, sales, and support to shape go-to-market strategies that translate complex infrastructure improvements into clear, compelling customer messaging.
