Essential Functions

(The following duties for the position listed shall include but not be limited to)

  • Assist with all internal and external HR related inquiries or requests.
  • Assist with the recruitment process.
  • Facilitate onboarding.
  • Coordinate New Hire first day of employment which includes issuing New Hire Packet, and perform drug screen.
  • Request email set-up for new employees
  • HRIS file maintenance.
  • Enroll new employees into timekeeping system, explain the functions of the device and expectations of accurate record keeping.
  • Prepare and process garnishments and EDD UI Claims
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, employment issues.
  • Process Workers Compensation claims
  • Conduct intake only meetings with employees regarding complaints or grievances
  • Schedule meetings, HR events and maintain agendas.
  • Coordinate HR training sessions and seminars.
  • Assist with payroll and adhoc HR projects.
  • Support other assigned functions.
  • Assist with performance management procedures.
  • Maintain records of personnel-related data (payroll, personal information, leaves, turnover rates etc.) in the database and ensure all employment requirements are met.

Skills/Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an HR coordinator or relevant human resources/administrative position
  • Knowledge of human resources processes and best practices
  • Strong ability in using MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, in particular)
  • Experience with HR databases and HRIS systems (e.g. Kronos)
  • Ability to work with ATS software
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle data with confidentiality
  • Good organizational and time management skills

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers/scanners.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The job requires long periods of standing while teaching a class.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
