Position Description: We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Export Control Manager to join our dynamic team at Voyager Technologies, a leading international aerospace company. As the Export Control Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with all export regulations and requirements related to advanced technology, particularly as related to human spaceflight and the International Space Station. This role requires an individual with comprehensive knowledge of both the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), as well as a strong background in export control processes and procedures. The Export Control Manager will serve as the Export Control Officer and empowered official for the company and will be responsible for overseeing and executing all matters related to export compliance.

 

Responsibilities: 

  1. Export Compliance Oversight:
    1. Serve as the Export Control Officer and empowered official for Voyager Technologies in matters related to export control, both for EAR and ITAR jurisdictions.
    2. Develop, implement, and maintain export compliance policies, procedures, and processes to ensure adherence to relevant regulations and guidelines.
    3. Lead and manage the export compliance across the Voyager Technologies enterprise, providing direction, mentorship, and guidance to ensure consistent compliance throughout the organization.
  2. Licensing and Authorization:
    1. Prepare, submit, and manage export license applications and agreements to relevant government agencies, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all required documentation.
    2. Collaborate with internal teams to determine export classifications, ensuring accurate categorization of products, technologies, and services.
    3. Monitor and track the status of export licenses, agreements, and authorizations, and maintain comprehensive records.
  3. Training and Education:
    1. Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs on export compliance to employees, contractors, and relevant stakeholders, ensuring a strong understanding of regulations and requirements.
    2. Stay updated on changes in export regulations and communicate these changes effectively to the organization.
  4. Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
    1. Conduct regular internal audits and assessments to identify potential areas of export compliance risk.
    2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and corrective actions.
  5. Communication and Reporting:
    1. Serve as the primary point of contact for government agencies and external partners on matters related to export compliance.
    2. Prepare and submit regular reports to senior management on the status of export compliance activities, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in export control, international trade compliance, or a related field within the aerospace or defense industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), including licensing requirements, classifications, and exemptions.
  • Proven experience in implementing, managing, and leading export compliance programs for cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulations and apply them to business processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and compliance.
  • Experience with export compliance software tools and systems is a plus.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Export Compliance Officer (CECO) or Certified U.S. Export Compliance Officer (CUSECO) are desirable.

 

 

Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000/year
