At Moxie, we empower entrepreneurs to launch, run, and grow their own aesthetics businesses with a combination of software and services. In just over three years, we have grown from an idea to a global, remote-first team of more than 140 people. Our business is in the top decile for growth, and our team is consistently described as high-trust, low-ego, and high-output.
We’re looking for a Principal, Technical Operations to build and scale Moxie’s core operational infrastructure across IT, Security, Compliance, and Technical Support. This is a strategic generalist role—ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of technology, systems thinking, and cross-functional execution.
You’ll also be stepping into a foundational and high-ownership role where you’ll initially operate as a hands-on individual contributor while maturing the function, with the opportunity to expand ownership through vendors or future hires.
Some weeks, you’ll focus on improving offboarding SOPs or supporting HIPAA readiness. Others, you’ll streamline our vendor access process, evaluate tooling for technical support, or support the team with urgent cross-functional projects—like spinning up a new system or enabling better reporting and compliance workflows.
This is a great fit for a technical builder-operator who enjoys variety, context switching, and creating durable systems in fast-growing startups.
Build and improve systems across technical functions—including IT, Security, Compliance, and Support—starting with hands-on ownership and scaling through process, documentation, and eventually delegation.
Lead operational readiness projects, such as HIPAA compliance sprints, access audits, or analytics/reporting infrastructure build-outs.
Drive cross-functional coordination between Engineering, Legal, Customer Success, and People teams to ensure operational maturity.
Design scalable processes and org structures for each function, including SOPs, tool evaluations, and team/vendor recommendations.
Identify opportunities for AI enablement and automation across technical operations to improve efficiency, quality, and scalability.
Breadth & Depth of Experience in Technical Operations
Strong experience in at least one core domain: IT, Security, Compliance, Engineering, or Support.
Familiarity with standard tools, models, and frameworks (e.g., tiered support, agile, cybersecurity best practices).
Technically fluent: you can read/write code, write SQL, interpret logs, and contribute to technical conversations.
Bonus: experience with cloud infrastructure (especially AWS).
Strategic Thinking & Systems Design
Proven experience designing processes, teams, and orgs in early-stage or high-growth startups.
Comfortable balancing speed, scalability, and cost tradeoffs when developing operational solutions.
Business Impact & Cross-Functional Execution
Strong communicator who can translate between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Effective collaborator across multiple teams with a bias toward action and clarity.
Culture-builder who fosters transparency, ownership, and self-sufficiency in others.
Adaptability & Prioritization
Self-starter with high ownership and autonomy in fast-paced environments.
Sound judgment in when to delegate, escalate, or table work across a wide range of initiatives.
Comfortable switching between hands-on execution and long-term strategic planning.
Above all, we’re in this to empower small business owners to own and grow their businesses. If you succeed, MedSpas will remain the opportunity for independent owner-operators instead of being dominated by a small number of large chains. If that speaks to you, speak to us.
Impact: Own and operationalize foundational systems—IT, Security, Compliance, and Technical Support—before scaling them into full departments.
Visibility: Work directly with senior leaders across Engineering, Product, Ops, Legal, and Customer Success to drive strategic operational initiatives.
Scope: Tackle high-leverage challenges in a high-growth Series B startup where no two quarters look the same.
Compensation: Competitive salary, meaningful equity, and comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits.
Flexibility: Fully remote role with global reach and the chance to collaborate with teams across the US and internationally.
If you’re passionate about building teams and systems in high-growth startup environments, we’d love to hear from you.
At Moxie, we believe in creating a workplace where everyone feels valued and included. We encourage people of all backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives to apply to our jobs. If you require any accommodations to fully participate in the interview process, please let us know—we’re happy to assist.
