The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene, Inc. (RFMH), is actively seeking a qualified candidate to fill a fulltime Junior Data Analyst. Under the auspices of the New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH), the Center for Practice Innovations (CPI) promotes the widespread use of evidence-based practices within behavioral health provider agencies throughout New York State. Considered an "Intermediary Organization" for implementation, CPI uses innovative approaches to build stakeholder collaborations, develop and maintain practitioners' expertise, and build agency infrastructures that support implementing and sustaining evidence-based practices. CPI also works with OMH to identify and involve program participants, families, providers, and scientific/academic organizations as partners in supporting the goals of OMH and CPI.
CPI seeks a Junior Data Analyst to support its various initiatives. These initiatives provide training, support, and consultation to behavioral health providers across New York State seeking to disseminate, implement and sustain evidence-based treatment for people with complex needs (mental health conditions, substance use, and physical health conditions). The person applying for this position must be self-directed, a team player committed to recovery-focused, person-centered, and culturally humble treatment, and value a data-driven approach to delivering of behavioral health services. This includes openness to learning about cultural humility-based approaches to providing mental health and substance use services and a thorough understanding of person-centered practice and the process and possibility of robust recovery for people who have been psychiatrically labeled and who use substances. Further, we seek a person with good interpersonal skills who can work with diverse populations at all levels of multiple organizations and who can present data to multiple different stakeholders that meets both their level of understanding and data needs (e.g., data that is actionable to them in their role).

Duties And Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Director of the Data Unit, the incumbent will work collaboratively with the Data team and Initiative/Unit leads across the Center. Specific duties of this position include:
- Using IBM SPSS and scripts, clean and analyze new and existing data sets to support and inform the Center's activities.
- Apply basic statistical modeling to the analysis of data to inform initiative activities and outcomes.
- Create and/or maintain data visualizations through Tableau that can be understood easily by a wide variety of audiences.
- Develop outbound reports to programs involved in CPI activities.
- Extract data from online surveys and other large databases (e.g., Qualtrics XM, RedCap).
- Adhere to best practices in data management (including documentation), analysis, quality assurance, and security.
- As a part of the Data Unit, collaborate with initiatives' leadership to develop recommendations for streamlined and data-driven tracking of program outcomes.
- Additional duties as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree in related field with at least (1) year of professional experience or Bachelor of Science in related field with at least (3) years of professional experience.
- At least (2) year of experience using statistical software with syntax language (eg. IBM SPSS syntax, R, or Python) to analyze data.
- At least (2) year of experience using Tableau to create data visualizations.
- At least (2) year of experience using standard office professional software packages and web-based applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Zoom
Preferred Qualifications
- At least (1) year of experience programming in Python 3 using data structure/analysis packages (eg., pandas, openpyxl, scikit-learn).
- At least (1) year of experience analyzing data from a Learning Management System (LMS; Cornerstone OnDemand preferred).
- Mental health and/or substance use recovery lived or living experience.
