The Role
AMD is seeking a Program Manager to join the Central Methodology & Tools (CMT) team. In this role, you will be part of the Program Management and Operations team that has program management responsibility for CAD and Verification methodology projects across the global CMT team as well as leads new process development and process improvement initiatives. The role is to function as a Program Manager for all operational processes.
This dynamic role will require a balance of technical and management aptitude along with soft skills. Must possess ability to coordinate and lead activities, influence process changes within peer teams, and have strong analytical skills. Out of box critical thinking and adeptness in simplifying for efficiency is a must. Data driven mindset is needed.
The Person
You are a strong communicator who understands both high-level strategies and detailed tactical matters. Results oriented, you are resourceful and can work effectively to influence a variety of stakeholders. You demonstrate a strong knowledge of and execution of program management and experience with complex projects.
Key Responsibilities
Project planning, requirements definition, managing deliverables, tracking and reporting for key process initiatives.
Scoping new projects and developing budgets.
Must be able to use spreadsheets to develop cost models and analyze different financial scenarios.
Drive team compliance to PMO processes, standards, and metrics.
Initiate enhancements to existing processes and methods to improve operational efficiencies while achieving alignment from key stakeholders.
Working effectively with stakeholders outside of the CMT organization as well as external vendors to ensure deliverables are provided that meet or exceed CMT requirements.
Prepare and deliver Executive-Level project updates.
Analyze and track detailed project tasks and performance against the plan of record to identify any issues early that are impacting the project plan and identify options for recovering delays to maintain schedule.
Required Skills
Being comfortable working with senior executives is a hard requirement; you must address the needs and requirements called upon from AMD's Executive Management team.
Strong documentation and communication skills will be called upon frequently, especially in delivering clear and concise information to functional managers and executives.
Microsoft Excel proficiency, including pivot and look up tables.
Must be detailed oriented.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of and use of different project management tools such as Microsoft Project or similar.
Preferred Experience
Proven Program Management/Operations experience in a dynamic and competitive industry, particularly within Software Development or Silicon design-based organizations.
Creating PowerBI dashboards is a plus.
EDA Software Contract experience is a plus
Managing projects to improve organization processes.
Managing strategic initiatives that might extend out over multiple years but have distinct phases with discrete deliverables over that time.
Ability to align and build consensus among stakeholders working towards a final goal.
Keen sense of urgency and drive for results.
Academic Credentials
Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline
Program Management certification a plus
