Data Center Solutions Architect - SMTS SYSTEMS DESIGN ENGINEER
The Role
The Data Center Solutions Architect will be responsible for mapping Data Center customer use cases to AMD technology and driving revenue for the DC Segment within the Adaptive and Embedded Compute Group (AECG). This position will focus on a number of sub-segments within the DC customer base including Storage, AI Networking and Compute Acceleration. Previous experience and knowledge in one or more of these applications or the ability to quickly ramp up and understand them is required. As part of the role, the ability to understand customer requirements and drive their needs into future AMD products will be essential. In-depth experience with FPGA’s and also background in CPU’s, GPU’s and Data Center scale out will be key to this role.
The Person
The ideal person will be a self-starter with strong business acumen, and excellent communications skills, this role entails a significant level of influence internally with other technology and marketing groups. The position requires technical command, experience, and insights to develop and nurture AMD products.
Key Responsibilities
Engage directly with AMD Data Center customers to understand their requirements and write marketing requirement documents
Work with product marketing and engineering teams to prioritize and align products
Work closely with lead customers and field to understand key requirements, challenges, and timelines for next-generation products
Identify need for reference designs, IPs, or new market specific collateral and drive requirements, commitment and rollout
Field training and technical customer presentations
Engage with field for pre-sales opportunities and post-sales support
Drive new Silicon and HW and SW features/improvements into future products
Customer engagement/education, generate and improve collateral, tools and methodology
Preferred Experience
10+ years in a customer facing technical role
Experience working with Data Center customers in a technical marketing role
Strong FPGA technical background
Critical thinking skills
Excellent communication skills both written and oral
Ability to discuss Data Center technology and understanding market trends
Marketing experience
Location:
Longmont, Colorado, Austin, TX, Santa Clara, CA or Remote in North America
Academic Credentials
BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Master’s Degree a plus.
