Pali Coast is searching for a talented Landscape Design Lead & Client Liaison who brings creativity, precision, and exceptional client engagement skills to every project. You will serve as the crucial bridge between our internal design/build team, top-tier external designers, and our discerning residential clientele. With a focus on innovation and clear communication, you'll ensure that every outdoor space we touch reflects the unique character of Southern California's coastal environment—especially in the Pacific Palisades.

Ideal for an experienced design professional with a strong background in landscape architecture or design, this role requires fluency in aesthetics, materials, construction methods, and permitting. Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the central communication hub between clients, internal teams, and external design collaborators.
  • Lead on-site visits to evaluate landscape conditions and guide design development.
  • Drive concept conversations and clearly communicate design intent and vision to clients.
  • Advise on plant palettes, hardscape materials, lighting, and water features suited to Southern California.
  • Oversee external consultants to direct 2D and 3D renderings and refine plans.
  • Confidently present and sell design concepts to clients.
  • Prepare preliminary sketches and concept visuals for proposals and kick-off.
  • Provide material/labor cost estimates and manage budget expectations with clients.
  • Navigate permitting processes, ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Proactively solve issues that arise during design development and early implementation.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in landscape design, architecture, or similar discipline.
  • In-depth knowledge of Southern California native and adapted plant species.
  • Proficient in design communication and drawing production (SketchUp, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Strong grasp of hardscape and construction detailing.
  • Clear, confident communicator and relationship builder.
  • Experience serving clients in high-end residential settings, preferably in Pacific Palisades or similar markets.
  • Proven budgeting and estimating skills with practical problem-solving capabilities.
  • Familiar with local zoning and permitting processes.
  • Preferred: Landscape Architect License, CLD, or LEED accreditation.
