Are you ready to take the next step in your investment management career? We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented professional to join our Fixed Income team.
In this role, you will work closely with Portfolio Managers and the Investment Director to support the delivery of high-quality investment outcomes across our Fixed Income funds. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a responsible investment approach, gain exposure to a wide range of portfolio management activities, and help shape the future of our Fixed Income strategies.
Specific responsibilities of the role include:
Support Fixed Income Portfolio Managers and Investment Director in achieving fund targets.
Help integrate Responsible Investment principles and compliance frameworks into investment processes.
Ensure investments follow the rules set out in the Prospectus, IMA, and company policies.
Represent LGPS Central Limited in the investment community and with Partner Funds.
Assist with setting up, retendering, or consolidating external investment mandates.
Help launch and manage new internal Fixed Income funds.
Follow the “Manager of Managers” process for selecting and overseeing external managers.
Contribute to identifying and evaluating new investment opportunities.
Monitor Fixed Income market sectors and assist in portfolio construction.
Support the implementation of fund strategies and processes.
Conduct research as needed by the team.
Monitor portfolios to ensure they meet compliance and performance expectations.
Requirements:
Skills/Knowledge/Experience/Competence:
Experience of investment/financial analysis, especially Fixed Income, preferably gained with an asset manager or other financial institution.
Demonstrated skill in originating, analysing and recommending investments, documenting the rationale for making investments and monitoring them once selected.
High degree of professional ethics, integrity and gravitas.
Proven interest in Fixed Income investing.
Excellent judgement and analytical skills.
First class interpersonal, collaborative and communication skills.
Ability to use initiative and take responsibility for workflow when required. A self-starter
Qualifications
Relevant degree and/or professional qualification
IMC gained and working towards CFA or similar qualification or relevant investment experience would be a plus.

These Partner Funds are both our clients and our shareholders and hold combined assets of £61bn, managed on behalf of over 1 million LGPS members and 3000 participating employers.

We manage assets across public and private markets, both internally and through externally appointed fund managers. Our aim is to use the combined buying power of our Partner Funds to reduce costs, improve investment returns and widen the range of available asset classes for investment.
LGPS Central (LGPSC) Ltd is the FCA-regulated asset manager for eight local authority pension funds across the Midlands. LGPSC is jointly owned on an equal shares basis by those Partner Fund, and it is responsible for managing almost £30bn of their assets. It is one of eight Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) asset pools in the UK. LGPSC has just celebrated its fifth birthday, and in those first five years, together with its Partner Funds, it has achieved a considerable amount.
