Join Get Further as a Tutor! Make a Difference, Get Trained, Get Paid

Start Dates

  • Training: Aug–Sept 2025
  • Sessions begin: Sept–Oct 2025

Two Ways to Make an Impact

Pay

  • Flex Tutor: £18/hour + holiday pay
  • Lead Tutor: £25,600–£26,000/year (pro rata; includes London weighting)

Hours

  • Flex Tutor: 2–15 hours/week
  • Lead Tutor: 15–37.5 hours/week

Contract

  • Flex Tutor: 0-hour contract to May 2026
  • Lead Tutor: Fixed-term to May 2026

Availability

  • Flex Tutor: Minimum 2 hours/week (for 15 weeks)
  • Lead Tutor: Must be free Fridays 11am–12pm

Locations:

  • Both roles: In-person across England; some online

Training

  • Flex Tutor: 2 full paid days
  • Lead Tutor: Paid initial and ongoing training

Extra

  • Flex Tutor: Focused delivery – no lesson planning
  • Lead Tutor: Deliver and mentor other tutors, shape programmes

What You’ll Do

As a Flex Tutor, You’ll

  • Deliver weekly English or maths tuition to small groups (1–3 students)
  • Build solid relationships with students
  • Support learning using Get Further’s ready-made resources

As a Lead Tutor, You’ll Also

  • Coach Flex Tutors via mentoring and observations
  • Monitor student progress and attendance
  • Help shape training and resources
  • Be a Get Further champion on-site

Who We’re Looking For

  • A commitment to tackling educational inequality
  • Excellent communication and rapport-building skills
  • Resilient, reliable, and professional
  • GCSE (C/4+), A-level (B+), degree (2:2 or higher OR working toward one)
  • Right to work in the UK from the start date
  • Ability to travel to placement locations

Paid Training Dates

In-person (for Those Local)

  • 19–20 Aug (London)
  • 2–3 Sept (TBC)
  • 9–10 Sept (Manchester)

Online (for Those Not Near a Venue)

  • 17–18 Sept
