The Role
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Payroll Accounts Assistant to join their busy Finance team on a hybrid basis. This is a varied and crucial role encompassing end-to-end payroll processing alongside responsibilities in both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. The ideal candidate will be proactive, possess strong numerical and communication skills, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
End-to-End Payroll:
Processing monthly and weekly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Managing starters and leavers, including processing relevant documentation and final payments.
Preparing and submitting payroll reports to relevant authorities (e.g., HMRC).
Dealing with payroll queries from employees in a professional and efficient manner.
Maintaining accurate payroll records and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
Accounts Payable:
Processing invoices and ensuring accurate coding and authorisation.
Preparing payment runs and reconciling supplier statements.
Dealing with supplier queries and maintaining strong relationships.
Maintaining accurate AP records.
Accounts Receivable:
Raising sales invoices and credit notes.
Processing receipts and allocating payments accurately.
Chasing outstanding debts and maintaining accurate AR records.
Reconciling customer accounts.
General:
Assisting with month-end and year-end accounting procedures.
Providing support to the wider Finance team as required.
The Ideal Candidate Will Possess
Proven experience in processing end-to-end payroll.
Solid understanding of payroll legislation and best practices.
Experience in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
