Mortenson is currently seeking an Associate Sustainability Specialist that will be responsible for working with project teams to support and educate on sustainability project responsibilities and assist with carbon reduction, management and data collection.
Responsibilities
Implement and administer sustainability program at project site(s)
Support project management team in developing and executing site-specific sustainability requirements
Conduct regional research into low-carbon alternatives, waste diversion/management options, water stress, and regional materials
Coordinate and support sustainability orientation and training programs
Review sustainability submittals and attend preconstruction and preparatory meetings with Trade Partners/Subcontractors
Monitor and review Trade Partner/Subcontractor work plans and activities for sustainability concerns
Conduct work site environmental sustainability inspections
Partner with multiple project stakeholders for project impacts and data collection
Record information in necessary sustainability software
Perform all other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Construction/Construction Management, Architecture, Civil, or Architectural Engineering, Sustainability, or equivalent experience
Previous related internship experience a plus
Preferred experience with industry sustainability rating systems (LEED, B3, GreenGlobes, WELL, etc.)
Current driver's license
Detail orientation to organize and manage multiple project tasks
Ability to work with multiple stakeholders to collect pertinent information
Basic understanding of construction documentation
Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office, project, and pertinent web applications
Positive and professional attitude, strong customer service skills (communication, persuasion, problem-solving, teamwork)
Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies
Active listening skills and effective communication, openness to diverse input and feedback
Ability to travel up to 50%

The base pay range for this role is $67,300 MIN - $90,900 MAX. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
