ABOUT THE ROLE
Happy Money seeks a dynamic and strategic Head of Marketing Growth to spearhead our customer acquisition initiatives, with a primary focus on scaling loan originations. This role is ideal for a data-driven marketer with a proven track record in optimizing customer acquisition costs across diverse channels.
As the Head of Marketing, you will lead a high-impact team responsible for executing and optimizing multi-channel campaigns—including direct mail, digital marketing, lead generation, and affiliate partnerships. You will use data, experimentation, and analysis to drive performance and maximize ROI.
The role is primarily focused on performance marketing as Happy Money has an established brand. However, as performance increases and Happy Money expands, there will be more opportunities to evolve the brand over time. We are seeking someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a proven ability to manage and mentor teams, and collaborates seamlessly with cross-functional leaders in Risk and Analytics, Finance, Technology and Operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and execute our customer acquisition strategy with a focus on driving scalable and profitable growth for our personal loan business.
Develop and scale performance marketing strategy across multi-channel (direct mail, email, affiliate, digital, content) initiatives in support of customer acquisition.
Show up as a servant leader - hire, develop, and mentor a team of high-performing growth & performance marketers.
Drive go-to-market and product marketing through strong value articulation, and product positioning and messaging.
Foster an environment of continuous “test and learn” to optimize channel performance (ROI) and seek efficient costs of acquisition (CAC).
Deeply understand the competitive landscape and trends, and represent the voice of the customer to identify and drive improvements in the overall customer experience and proactively identify opportunities for growth.
Drive and improve Happy Money’s brand, marketing performance, and position in the competitive landscape.
Stay current with the latest marketing technologies and tools, and enhance strategy and execution by harnessing technologies like AI for personalization, testing and optimization, and automation.
Work cross-functionally as a respected, trusted thought leader and partner:
Strategy - to provide quarterly goals in alignment with our long term plan
Risk & Analytics - to ensure we are attracting the right customers and margins
Finance - to develop and manage forecasts and budgets to drive efficient growth and profitability
Data Intelligence - to develop robust reporting that helps drive actionable insights, build out more robust attribution models (e.g., multi-touch) and measurement frameworks
Technology - to collaborate on experiments, enhance the customer experience, launching new features and new product GTM
ABOUT YOU
10+ years of experience in marketing and customer acquisition, overseeing significant budgets that tie directly to revenue targets and 5+ years of managing marketing teams
Consumer Lending industry or complimentary category experience, with an understanding of how marketing channels and methods impact credit risk and align with the regulatory environment
A track record of success in scaling credit or lending products and managing customer acquisition funnels
You are well-versed and effective in specific channels (affiliate marketplaces, paid digital, lead generation, direct mail, email) and you deeply understand attribution models
You are up-to-date on the latest in marketing technology, attribution and measurement, and the use of AI in marketing strategy
Able to develop, communicate, and execute clear marketing strategies that align to company objectives and goals
Willing to “act as an owner” and roll up your sleeves to get campaigns executed and analyzed
Extremely data focused, bringing analytical rigor, a test and learn mindset, and curiosity to your leadership and the culture of the marketing team
You have a track record of recruiting, nurturing, and retaining high performers, and you lead by example, bringing both a drive for high-performance, matched with high-empathy
You are strategic and detail oriented, able to focus on the big picture across the organization, considering impacts outside your team, while understanding into details on specific initiatives
