Job Description

Marketing Strategy & Performance Manager

Are you a passionate, proactive marketer with a knack for both big-picture strategy and data-driven campaign performance? Join the Hearst Newspaper Media Strategy team and play a pivotal role supporting Strategic Account Executives throughout the full client journey-from responding to critical RFPs and sales proposals to optimizing campaign results.

This role is ideal for a strategic, analytical marketer who thrives on collaboration, storytelling, and delivering measurable impact from presales through post-campaign optimization.

In this role, you’ll:

  • Partner with Strategic Account Executives to craft compelling, audience-focused proposals and campaign strategies that resonate with targeted customers’ attitudes, outlooks, and interests.
  • Design, oversee, and optimize multi-channel ad campaigns, leveraging your expertise in Google Ads, Meta, and digital platforms to engage audiences and drive measurable results.
  • Deliver market insights and develop custom audience strategies, helping the team proactively pursue new business opportunities.
  • Create visually engaging, story-driven presentations that clearly communicate campaign vision, strategy, and capabilities.
  • Collaborate across sales, marketing, creative, and product teams to ensure cohesive planning and flawless execution.
  • Analyze campaign data, conduct platform audits, and provide actionable insights to continuously improve performance and exceed client KPIs.

Position Requirements:

  • Deep understanding of strategic campaign development: audience targeting, timing, and channel selection.
  • Active certifications in Google Ads and Meta
  • Strong PowerPoint skills for building visually compelling presentations.
  • Confident presenter, comfortable leading client and leadership meetings.
  • Proficient with digital media, native advertising, audience data, and social media platforms.
  • Experience conducting market research to inform audience and strategy decisions.
  • Analytical mindset; adept at interpreting data, pulling platform audits, and generating insights.
  • Up-to-date on trends in traditional and digital media.
  • Creative thinker with a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach.
  • Excellent communicator, able to convey campaign vision to both internal teams and clients.

What Will It Take to Be Accomplished?

  • 2–3 years’ experience in a fast-paced sales and marketing environment.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage shifting priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Direct experience working in or alongside sales and marketing teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint.
  • Google and Meta platform experience
  • Comfortable working cross-departmentally and leading client presentations.
  • Detail-oriented, communicative, and eager to ask questions and drive results.
