General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. (GDIT) has an opening for the position of Programmer Sr. Advisor (Ref# PSA26JG).
Work Location: Position may telecommute / work remotely from anywhere in the U.S.
Job Duties: Plan, create, test, and document highly complex applications programs for batch development of Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) tool/domain and associated healthcare data. Generate new code and correct, convert, and/or modify existing code to meet specifications. Prepare detailed specifications from which code will be written. Design, document, develop, and implement/enhance highly scalable and secure Java web applications. Lead the development and coordination of large projects by providing technical oversight and direction for the development team. Take accountability for the design and development of complex systems to ensure they meet the business requirements. Prepare development estimates to within 5-10% range of actual effort. Create and code modifications for the production system using Java. Architect, design, code, and implement simple and clean designs that provide ease of maintenance. Build strong relationships with the other development teams. Analyze complex issues and design superior solutions that meet the user needs. Participate in quality assurance initiatives to ensure high product quality throughout the development process and life cycle. Produce test plans and test cases and deliver quality solutions. Perform a variety of testing procedures on assigned products, analyze test results, and correct problems. Prepare reports on analyses, findings, and project progress, and present results to management as required. Create solid estimates that can be tracked to delivery within 5-10% of actuals. Walk through specifications and designs and clearly enunciate the required changes and reasons for the design approach to the internal design control team. Provide changes that are voted on by customers and are delivered with quarterly releases. Provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced programmers. Maintain current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned. Participate in special projects as required. Use of Java, Spring Batch, COBOL, JCL, DB2, PostgreSQL, SQL, Maven, Jenkins, Git, and AWS.
Requirements: This position requires a Master’s degree or foreign academic equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field. Plus 6 years of experience in the job offered or 6 years in a related occupation including Software Developer, Data Developer, or related experience. Will accept a Bachelor’s degree plus 8 years of progressive experience in lieu of the required education and experience. A combination of foreign post-secondary education determined to be equivalent to a U.S. Bachelor’s degree is acceptable. Position requires 6 years of experience with Java, COBOL, and DB2 and 3 years of experience with CMS tool, Spring Batch, and Git. Will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience as per the requirements cited herein. 40hrs/week.

The likely salary range for this position is $128,520 - $173,880. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.Scheduled Weekly Hours:
