Position Overview

The Advocacy Intake Coordinator is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service to our clients, including TPA Clients, Client Employer Groups, Health Plan members, and providers. This role supports the Director of Advocacy and VP of Operations as needed. The primary focus is on assisting clients and members with the intake of inquiries, services, or issues, and working with members and clients with submission of their case.

Key responsibilities include handling all incoming emails, faxes, and portal cases. A key aspect of this role is the ability to operate independently within the scope of duties and ensure appropriate intake of all inquiries and issues. The Advocacy Intake Coordinator will work within multiple proprietary systems and product offerings, including Avedon, Visium™, Compass Connect, and Innovate360.

What You’ll Do 

  • In an efficient manner receive, enter advocacy cases from members/providers/clients and educate on RBP plan and guidance with Zelis case submission process.  

  • Respond to email correspondence inquiries from internal and external partners within an established timeframe utilizing current reference materials and available resources  

  • Identify members/providers/clients needs, clarify information, thoroughly research every issue, and provide solutions and/or alternatives  

  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA requirements  

  • Utilize software, databases, scripts and tools appropriately  

  • Consistent, regular, punctual attendance as scheduled is an essential responsibility of this position  

  • Special projects as assigned by the leadership team.  

  • Miscellaneous office duties as assigned.   

  • Back-up to other positions as assigned by the leadership team. 

What You’ll Bring to Zelis 

  • High School diploma or equivalent. 

  • Higher degree of education or vocational/technical school in health care industry preferred but not required 

  • Minimum of 1 to 2 years Health Insurance Industry experience in patient concierge, customer service, intake. 

  • Excellent verbal, written and customer service skills    

  • Solid computer, grammar, and multi-tasking skills 

  • Strong attention to detail, time management and decision-making skills  

  • Ability to navigate various computer systems - this role requires technical aptitude and the ability to navigate through multiple applications in a dual screen environment  

  • Problem solving skills, Adaptability and accountability   

  • Exceptional customer service skills and data entry accuracy   

  • Ability to multitask, set priorities and manage time effectively   

  • Must be proficient with office programs Windows, Excel, and the MS Office suite in general   

Location and Workplace Flexibility

We have offices in Atlanta GA, Boston MA, Morristown NJ, Plano TX, St. Louis MO, St. Petersburg FL, and Hyderabad, India.
