Collins Aerospace is seeking to add an experienced Contracts Manager to our Civil Space Contracts Team to manage multiple proposals and contracts concurrently.  This role will negotiate and manage a high volume of contracts and associated business relationships for our Space Systems business including Civil Space applications. The ideal candidate will have experience managing and negotiating U.S. Government (USG) direct contracts (especially NASA), customer-facing subcontracts to USG prime contractors, and commercial contracts experience.  The qualified candidate will take personal initiative to proactively serve both internal and external customers.  This person will provide customers with quality experiences, establishing and maintaining effective relationships through the entire contract management process.  We define success as exceeding customer expectations.

What You Will Do:

  • Responsible for negotiating, structuring, and/or administrating contractual documents that establish business relationships with customers and/or partners. Works with sales, finance, functional teams, and legal department to structure contracts. Analyzes contracts to ensure compliance to company policy, government specifications and other requirements.
  • Reviews high incoming volume of customer requests for quotes, identifies proposal/quotes requirements, reviews terms and conditions for acceptability and compliance with company policies and procedures, assists in proposal development as required and participates in securing required management approval for submittal of proposals to customers.
  • Review contractual terms and conditions for their acceptability, assessing risk and impact to the proposal utilizing the Company resources including legal, operations, and pricing, as necessary. Provide alternate terms and conditions to customer.
  • Maintaining contract documents and communication in multiple contract management systems.
  • Operates in accordance with company policies and practices, and in compliance with accepted business ethics.
  • Takes proper action to closeout contracts in accordance with applicable procedures at the conclusion of all activity.
  • Assures the timely communication of contract information to appropriate persons and maintains complete and accurate contract files.
  • Acts as principal interface with internal/external customers on contractual matters. Takes necessary action or coordinates action to resolve any contractual problems with the contract execution team in a timely manner.
  • Normally receives little instruction on daily work, general instructions on new assignments.
  • May provide guidance and coaching to fellow contracts group members.
  • May require travel to an office or customer to support negotiations/meetings.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Aerospace industry experience
  • Prior experience with US Government direct contracts (especially NASA); prime contract subcontracts
  • Strong FAR/DFARS/NFARS experience including application and execution
  • International contract experience including sales to foreign governments
  • Prior experience with USG contract management
  • SAP and similar ERP experience

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
