About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tax Specialist to manage and oversee all direct and indirect tax-related activities (excluding customs) in Thailand. The ideal candidate will need to ensure compliance with local tax regulations, provide expert advice on tax matters, and liaise effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.

Your Team

Reporting to the Director, Taxation.

What You Will Do

  • Manage day-to-day compliance activities, including Value Added Tax (VAT) and Withholding Tax (WHT) processes.
  • Ensure accurate and timely computation and payment of monthly and annual corporate taxes/WHT and VAT.
  • Prepare and submit periodic filings for VAT, WHT, Corporate Income Tax (CIT), Transfer Pricing (TP), and other direct and indirect taxes.
  • Handle and represent the company during local tax audits (both direct and indirect) conducted by the Thai Revenue Department or other relevant authorities.
  • Prepare and file VAT refund applications, including follow-ups with tax authorities to ensure timely processing.
  • Assist the Group Tax Headquarters with quarterly and annual tax provisioning.
  • Monitor and reconcile tax balances in the general ledger and ensure compliance with financial reporting standards.
  • Review intercompany transactions to ensure compliance with the group TP policy and provide required inputs to the global TP team for TP documentation.
  • Manage the preparation and filing of the Master File and Country-by-Country Reporting (CbCR) as required under Thai regulations or the intimation thereof.
  • Provide actionable tax advice to various business teams on both direct and indirect tax topics.
  • Oversee compliance with requirements for claiming CIT exemptions granted by the Board of Investment (BOI).
  • Regularly update the Global Corporate Tax (CT) and TP teams on changes in local tax laws and assess their impact on the business.
  • Conduct periodic reviews and audits of the company’s tax positions to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Maintain robust documentation for all tax-related processes to support internal reviews and audits.
  • Manage relationships with external advisors, tax consultants, and auditors for efficient handling of complex tax matters.

What You Need to Be Successful

  • Language Proficiency: Fluent in English and Thai, both written and verbal.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in SAP, Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Tax Knowledge: Strong understanding of Thai tax laws, including VAT, WHT, CIT, BOI (optional), and TP regulations.
  • Experience: Proven experience in managing direct and indirect tax compliance, audits, and advisory roles within Thailand.

What is Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with BOI-related tax exemptions and compliance.
  • Prior experience in working with multinational organizations or in a group tax structure.
  • Knowledge of global TP documentation requirements and standards.
