Job description

Our client, a leading financial services firm, is seeking a Director of Finance to oversee daily financial operations, drive strategic financial planning, and ensure compliance with regulatory and tax requirements. This is a high-impact leadership role requiring expertise in QuickBooks, financial strategy, compliance, and team leadership. This is a hybrid role requiring 2-3 days in office.

Job Function

  • Financial Operations & Oversight: Ensure accurate execution of financial transactions, reconciliations, and reporting processes.
  • Cash Flow & Liquidity Management: Monitor and optimize cash flow to meet operational needs.
  • Transaction Approval & Compliance: Review major financial transactions and ensure adherence to internal policies.
  • 401(k) & Payroll Compliance: Manage 401(k) administration, tax filings, sales/payroll tax compliance, and audits.
  • Stakeholder Management: Act as a liaison with external auditors, CPAs, banks, and regulatory agencies.
  • International Oversight: Manage financial operations for global offices, including London.
  • Accounts Payable, Receivable & Collections Strategy: Optimize collections policies and cash flow management.
  • Year-End Tax & Audit Preparation: Lead tax schedule preparation and regulatory compliance efforts.


Job Requirements

  • 10-15 years of finance/accounting experience in financial or professional services, including 5+ years in leadership roles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
  • Expertise in QuickBooks and experience with enterprise accounting software (Sage 100, Oracle ERP, NetSuite).
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) for data analysis and reporting.
  • Big Four Combo CPA with corporate controller experience.
  • Hands-on, granular operational accounting experience in AP, AR, multi-state payroll, MEC, insurance premiums, treasury, and cash management.
  • Proficient in QuickBooks and Bill.com.
  • U.S. employment authorization required (no sponsorship available).
